Life Together

Starting Tuesday, September 3, from 7:00 to 8:15pm, David Giffin will be leading an 8-week book study of Life Together authored by Dietrich Bonhoeffer. You can sign up to attend this fascinating study at the "sign-ups" table, starting Monday, August 19. Please sign up early so that we can get a count for ordering the books needed. Thank you.

Life Together is Pastor Bonhoeffer's experience of Christian community. This story of a unique fellowship in an underground seminary during the Nazi years reads like one of Paul's letters. It gives practical advice on how life together in Christ can be sustained in families and groups. The role of personal prayer, worship in common, everyday work, and Christian service is treated in simple, almost biblical, words. Life Together is bread for all who are hungry for the real life of Christian fellowship.

About the author: Dietrich Bonhoeffer (1906–1945) was a renowned and beloved Christian minister, seminary professor, and theologian who was imprisoned and later executed by the Nazis for his resistance to Hitler.

Devoted (Women's Study)

From Eve in Genesis 1 to Eunice in 2 Timothy 1, the Bible mentions countless women who bear witness to the faithfulness and love of God. While each woman is unique, they all have one thing in common—a life interwoven with God’s story of redemption. In this 6-week study, you’ll encounter more than 30 women in Scripture whose lives have inspired generations of women in their faith and devotion to God. Their stories are a reminder that you, too, are made in the image of God, and you have an important part to play in God’s story.

Join us on Thursday, September 5, at 6:30 in the Music Room for this exciting 6-week study. Please sign up at the "sign-ups" table if you plan to attend. The book, Devoted, will be $17, due the first day of class.

Family Ministry Virtual Study

Our Family Ministry is starting a group book study but with a twist! Starting Sunday, September 15th, we will start our VIRTUAL study. This is a study whose purpose is to have the flexibility of doing it on your own time. We will go through a couple of chapters of our book a week, each chapter is roughly 10 pages long so it's not a huge commitment and will interact with each other on the book via a Facebook group. The book we will be reading through is, Serving without Sinking. As the description states...

Many of us are serving, and feel like we're sinking. We feel joyless, weary and burdened. John Hindley shows how Jesus was telling the truth when He offered people an "easy yoke' a way of serving Him that is joyful and liberating. He explains why serving is so often joyless and how our identify in Christ changes everything. If you are serving, but sometimes feel as though you're sinking...you need this book! If you know someone who has burn out, or is heading in that direction...they need this book too. You can sign-up for this study via the church app or reach out to Chelsea Cordonnier!
