The Jackson Area Seed Ministry began in 1972 in a Sunday School class of the Jackson UMC. Their goal is to “help people help themselves.” They help people who have lost their job, senior citizens, and low income families. In 2023, they planted 2457 gardens in southeast Ohio and received donations from 16 states.

We collect seed packages (just about anything for zone 6)  during the month of March and mail to Jackson the first week of April, so they can sort and get ready for planting. Normandy usually collects between 300-350 packs of seeds.
