We gather together…to enjoy Thanksgiving and ALL the blessings God gives us! Our kids are keeping busy during these frantic months of fall! Between fall sports, band, and all the extra activities that the season brings our Youth have been busy on Sunday nights, and helping with numerous things around the church! We’re always excited to be involved in helping others in and outside of our walls.
We had a good turnout for the Alzheimer’s Walk (21 walk for the Normandy team) and exceeded the fundraising goal! THANK YOU! Operation Christmas Child is off to a great start as we had over 90 boxes taken the first Sunday we had them available! We are hoping to have 100 to turn in and help make the Dayton area a national leader in shoeboxes once again. The boxes need to be returned to the church by Sunday, November 11. We will be helping our community by serving with BOGG Ministries on Tues. November 20, just before Thanksgiving, as we assist with a grocery
delivery to families, so they too can enjoy a hearty meal for the holiday.
November will be bookended by the Bazaar and the Christmas decorating! The building will be buzzing with many hands of all ages – and the youth always seem to find a way to have fun doing the work. We love making Normandy an active and thriving place for God’s servants and His mission!
Here’s our Sunday calendar for the month:
Nov. 4 – Bazaar Flea Market Set-up (pizza after!) 3:00 pm
Nov. 11 – “Friendsgiving” Dinner in Fellowship Hall 5:00 pm
Nov. 18 – Bowling 5:00 pm
Nov. 25 – Christmas Decorating! 2:00 pm
Take some time to stop and smell the turkey and trimmings this season – enjoy the wonderful bounty of not only things God’s provided, but also of friends, family, church, and home. Yes, we gather together – to worship, fellowship, and to serve in and out of church. That’s the real expression of thanksgiving.
