Wright State University’s Opera Theatre, under the direction of Dr. Kimberly Warrick, presents “Amahl and the Night Visitors”. Gian-Carlo Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors is the first opera commissioned especially for television, and was given its premiere by the NBC Television Opera Theatre in New York City on December 24, 1951. Its story of a poor young crippled boy and his mother. One evening, they are visited by three kings on their way to the Christ child. This heartwarming Christmas opera is beloved the world over and will add to your Christmas season.
