At Normandy, we believe building genuine friendships and connections to others is one of the key factors in growing spiritually. This is why everyone is encouraged to experience the fellowship of our informal gatherings and our small and large social groups. Our social groups meet at the church, in group members’ homes, or restaurants and other community locations.
Informal Gatherings
Sunday Morning Coffee and Donuts
A great place to meet new people and visit with old friends is the fellowship time on Sunday mornings. Coffee is offered in the area outside the main sanctuary before the 9:00 am service to be enjoyed during the service. Coffee and donuts are available from 8:30 am in the Fellowship Hall until the beginning of our contemporary worship service at 10:30 am, at which time, tea and lemonade along with the donuts will be offered in the Music Room near the ramp leading to the Fellowship Hall until 11:30 am. Grab a seat with a friend or simply stand and chat. It’s a great social time.
Thursdays at Normandy
Each Thursday from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm there is a gathering in the Fellowship Hall for food, sharing of joys and concerns, and a short program. The programs are as diverse as the interests of those who attend. All are welcome to provide a program about their special interests or ministry they support. Full AV support is available. No advance registration is required – just come and enjoy.
Lenten Dinner Series
For the four weeks following Ash Wednesday, everyone pitches in to provide soup, salad and dessert along with a special Lenten Study to help us prepare spiritually as individuals and as a Church for the Celebration of Easter. The dinners are on Thursday evening. Everyone is welcome. Please come.
Social Groups
Greek Groups
Normandy has four Greek Groups: Beta, Delta, Iota, and Koinonia. These groups generally meet once a month for speakers, outings, games, dessert, and fellowship.
Dinners For Eight
These groups have dinner at the homes of four different group members over the course of 6 months. The host provides the main course and the other participants bring the side dishes and dessert.
Circles
The United Methodist Women have three Circles: Hannah, Priscilla, and Sarah. For more information, go to United Methodist Women.
Other Groups
Other social group activities can be found in the Children’s Ministry, Youth Ministry, and United Methodist Men sections.
