It’s exciting to be part of a group of young people that are so mission minded. During these dark winter months we have worked with groups concerning hunger – both in our area and around the world. THANK YOU for your contributions on our Souper Bowl of Caring day! We were able to send $485 to BOGG Ministries to assist with their mission of feeding local families. This local ministry has quite an impact and we are happy to join the UMM in supporting this ministry throughout the year. You can find out more about them at www.thebogg.org
We designated the month of March as World Hunger Month and as a group we will be focusing on learning about hunger not only here in the USA but around the world as well. Through powerful video lessons we will see that no matter where kids are in the world, most have the same dreams, the same curiosity and some play the same games…finding out that Hide-And-Seek is played in remote villages in Africa strikes a chord as it is one of the favorite activities here in our own church. Be on the lookout for some of our youth and ask how you can help alleviate hunger through the vast network of World Vision.
We’ve been learning and growing through Lent, will be participating in the Maundy Thursday Tenebrae service, helping with the Easter Egg Hunt, and planning for summer mission projects. We are also looking forward to making and serving the June meal at St. Paul. We are happy to partner with the many groups that support the St. Paul ministry throughout the year.
If you have or know of a young person 6th-12th grade, please invite them to attend some of our events, evening Bible Study & activities, mission projects and more! New friends are always welcome! Matthew 25 says, “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in…’Truly I tell you, whatever you did for the one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ ”
