Coronavirus Update Week 3

29
Mar

We are entering the third week of the Coronavirus pandemic and the number of infected persons continues to grow here and around the world.  As a result, Governor DeWine has issued a Stay at Home Order.  The model’s from the Cleveland Clinic predict that growth of cases will peak here in Ohio in early-mid May.  For that reason, the Leadership Team of Normandy Church unanimously agreed to keep the church campus closed and cancel all public worship services and all gatherings through the month of April.  We will continue to provide online worship services until we can safely gather for worship together.  You can access the weekly worship services on the Church webpage or our FaceBook page.  This week’s service can also be found on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lfidbB0HTRM.

While we will not be able to gather together to celebrate Easter in two weeks, we will celebrate the Resurrection of Christ later this year. Even though our buildings are closed, Normandy Church is alive and well.  Your ministry teams are working together from their homes and using video conferencing technologies to meet the needs of the church family through this difficult time.  Please know that you are all in our prayers and thoughts.  Feel free to email the church at info@normandyumc.org) or myself at (jwiles@normandyumc.org) if you have any questions or needs.  If you have an emergency, you are welcome to call me on my personal cell phone (740) 777-7458 and I will do my best to find a way to help.

We know that many of us are filled with anxiety and fear and I would like to share these words from the Apostle Paul in his letter to the Roman churches.  “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Rom. 15:13 NIV)

Unison Prayer

Almighty God of Mercy,  we come to you this day asking for your protection for our families, friends, nation and the world as we battle the Coronavirus.  We pray that you would fill us with your peace and bless our efforts to defeat this disease.  May we not only know that you are with us throughout this day, but use us to reach out with the love of our Savior Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Your Servant in Christ,
Pastor Jerry
